Kirkland Newborn & Family Photographer

Family walking with their dog at Rattlesnake Lake near North Bend, WA during sunset – candid outdoor family photography in the Seattle area.

Kirkland is such a wonderful city for families—beautiful waterfront views along Lake Washington, charming shops and restaurants downtown, and parks that make it easy to spend time outdoors year-round. As a Kirkland newborn and maternity photographer, I love working with families here and hearing about your favorite local traditions, whether it’s visiting the Kirkland Wednesday Market, taking a walk at Marina Park, or spending weekends exploring nearby trails.

When it comes to maternity and family portraits, Kirkland offers so many scenic options. Marina Park is a classic choice with its lakeside views, open lawns, and iconic dock that’s beautiful year-round. Juanita Bay Park is another favorite, with peaceful wetlands, boardwalks, and natural landscapes that create a calm backdrop for portraits. For families looking for a more wooded setting, Bridle Trails State Park offers tall evergreens and shaded trails that feel tucked away, yet close to home.

If you’d like to stay closer to the waterfront, Waverly Beach Park and Houghton Beach Park are both perfect for golden-hour sessions with stunning views of Lake Washington and the Seattle skyline in the distance. For a hidden gem, O.O. Denny Park provides forest trails and a quiet stretch of shoreline that’s especially beautiful at sunset.

My cozy Lake Tapps studio is about a 45–50 minute drive from Kirkland. Designed with newborns, expectant moms, and families in mind, it’s quiet, warm, and thoughtfully prepared so you can relax as soon as you arrive. From newborn wraps and tiny outfits to comfortable seating for parents, everything is ready so your session feels easy and enjoyable.

If you’re heading down from Kirkland, you might enjoy a stop in Bellevue or Redmond along the way—Café Cesura in downtown Bellevue is one of my favorite coffee shops for a quick break before arriving at the studio.

Whether we’re photographing by the lake at Juanita Beach, among the trees at Bridle Trails, or in the calm setting of my Lake Tapps studio, my goal is to create timeless, heartfelt portraits that celebrate your family’s story.
