Seattle Family, Newborn & Maternity Photographer

Looking for a Seattle photographer who can capture the beauty in your everyday moments?

You're in the right place.

I'm Atsumi, a Seattle area newborn, maternity, and family photographer serving families throughout Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Sammamish, and the surrounding communities.

As a mom myself, I know how quickly these seasons pass.

One moment you're feeling those first baby kicks and counting down the weeks until your due date. The next, you're carrying a sleepy toddler from the car, wondering how they suddenly got so heavy.

And somewhere in between, life happens.

The ordinary moments.
The messy moments.
The moments that don't seem important at the time but somehow become the ones you miss most.

Those are the moments I love photographing.

My approach is relaxed, natural, and connection-focused. Whether we're documenting your growing family during a maternity session, welcoming a brand-new baby, or chasing little ones through one of Seattle's beautiful parks, my goal is simple:

To create images that feel like your family.

Not stiff.

Not overly posed.

Just honest, beautiful memories of this season of life.

Seattle Family Photography

Family photography isn't about getting everyone to look at the camera and smile perfectly.

It's about documenting the way your daughter reaches for your hand.

The way your son still wants to be carried.

The way your family feels right now.

My family sessions are playful, laid-back, and designed with real families in mind. We'll laugh, explore, cuddle, and let your children be themselves.

Some of my favorite family session locations include Discovery Park, Golden Gardens, Washington Park Arboretum, and other beautiful Seattle-area locations that provide the perfect backdrop without taking attention away from what matters most—you.

Whether your family is growing, changing, or simply enjoying this season together, these photographs become part of your family's story.

The Simplicity of the Studio

If you prefer an indoor setting, I also offer maternity sessions in a beautiful natural light studio in Seattle.

Filled with soft window light and neutral tones, the studio provides a calm, comfortable space to slow down and celebrate this season before your baby arrives. Without worrying about the weather or distractions, the focus remains on you, your growing baby, and the connection you already share.

This option is perfect for:

• A clean, timeless aesthetic

• Mothers who prefer an indoor environment

• Beautiful natural light year-round

• A relaxed experience that feels simple and effortless

Many mothers choose the studio for its ease and simplicity. Just beautiful light, a cozy space, and an opportunity to pause for a moment and remember what it felt like to be waiting for your baby.

The Art of Motherhood

My Lake Tapps studio offers a different experience from my outdoor and natural light sessions.

Using professional studio lighting and a carefully curated collection of gowns, we create timeless portraits that highlight the beauty of pregnancy in a simple and artistic way.

This option is perfect for:

• Mothers who love an elegant, fine art aesthetic

• A more polished and intentional look

• Access to my studio wardrobe

• Creating heirloom portraits to pass down to your children

These sessions are less about trends and more about creating something lasting. Images that remind you not only of how you looked during this season, but of the incredible journey that brought your baby into your arms.

Planning Newborn Photos Too?

Many of the families you see throughout my website first reached out during pregnancy and returned again once their baby arrived.

While maternity sessions are all about celebrating this season of anticipation, newborn sessions preserve the tiny details that change before you even realize it — sleepy snuggles, tiny fingers and toes, and those first days together as a family.

If you're thinking about newborn photos as well, I recommend reaching out during your second trimester so we can reserve space around your due date.

Whether you prefer a cozy in-home session or timeless studio portraits, I'd love to help you document this next chapter too.

Preserve This Season

Pregnancy is one of the shortest and longest seasons all at once.

Days can feel slow, yet somehow this chapter passes before you know it.

Maternity photography gives you the chance to pause, celebrate your growing baby, and remember the anticipation, excitement, and love that already surrounds them before they arrive.

Seattle Maternity Photography That Feels Like Your Story

Every pregnancy is different, and your maternity session should reflect that.

Some mothers want windswept beach portraits at sunset. Others prefer the simplicity of a natural light studio or the elegance of a fine art maternity session. My goal is never to force you into a style that doesn't feel like you. Instead, I create photographs that preserve this season honestly and beautifully.

As a Seattle maternity photographer, I work with families throughout Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Sammamish, and the surrounding Puget Sound area. Whether this is your first baby or your fourth, these images become a reminder of where your family's story began.
